No Reservations: All sessions are first come, first participating.
Adding a session to your calendar is a great way to track what you are interested in but does NOT guarantee your spot. We recommend having a few options during each slot as back-up plans. Thanks in advance for moving to another session if you find a room is full. For help, see Sched’s Attendee Guide.

As you plan, note room capacities (listed with room #, e.g. B204 / 72 = building B, room 204, seats 72) and arrive early to help ensure a seat. Thank you for your gracious cooperation and understanding, and for keeping us all safe by observing venue fire codes.

Elisha ben Abuyah was a rabbi and Jewish religious authority who lived in Jerusalem in the 2nd Temple period and was referred to as “Acher” or “The Other One” after he adopted a worldview his rabbinic colleagues considered heretical. We will discuss how we approach those we consider “others” in our society and explore different responses to “otherness” in Jewish philosophy and thought.
